Social Justice

The Disaster Fund has been in place for more than twenty eight years. Funded through individual donations it has contributed significantly throughout that time providing assistance to the victims of earthquakes, cyclones, fire, famine, volcanoes and floods..

Specific contributions from the Disaster Fund have been made to a number of social justice causes including covenanting, refugees and people in community detention. The Pilgrim Circle of Friends, is supported by the fund from time to time.

Pilgrim people serve on Network and Synod Committees such as the Solidarity & Justice Community and the Covenanting Committee. If you are interested in Social Justice issues you are welcome to contact any of these people through the office.

The Judith Blake Fund A separate fund has been established in Judith Blake's memory to assist young women to attend national and international conferences and leadership opportunities. Judith Blake OAM was a member of this church and a staunch supporter of social justice, particularly relating to women's issues.

Contributions to the Judith Blake Fund and the Disaster Fund can be made through the office. Contact the office or the ministers for details.
