Month A (January, March, May, July, September, November)

Week 1
We who are one in this place, go forth as a community of care into the many communities in which we live and serve.
We who are one in this place, go forth in our diverse ways expressing the one love of Jesus the Christ.
We who are one in this place, go forth into the many paths down which Christ beckons us, with the confidence that Christ our companion will lead us safely to the promised goal.
For we are one body in Christ, in faith carrying out our part of God's mission, and offering praise to the one God who embraces us all.

© Tracy Spencer (from Singing While It Is Still Dark)

And as we go forth, may the grace of Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit go with you, this day and all the days ahead. Amen.
Week 2
May the love of God surround you as you go out from this place, and return to your daily life;
May Jesus Christ always stand before you with an invitation to know him and to follow him;
May the Spirit give you wisdom and grace for the journey, and kindle your imagination;
And may the love of this community be like a warm cloak to shield you from despair and keep you strong in hope. Amen.

Week 3
(linked to communion)
Go as those who have received the abundant feast of God.
And may the hands of the Christ rest upon our heads in blessing,
the touch of the Holy Spirit reach out towards us in encouragement
and God the Loving Parent hold us and protect us. Amen.

Week 4
(candles on centre table if using the suggestions for Month A week 4)
Stretch out your hands and feel the warmth of the light. It is the warmth of the love of God for you. That love will surround you wherever you go and give you courage for the next step of the journey. Go believing that God always journeys with us. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. In the name of Christ. Amen.

Week 5

A spoken blessing to each other, or one third of the community say one section.

eg And now may the grace of Jesus Christ/ the love of God/ and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you, now and always. Amen.

OR A spoken blessing with community response/s.

Month B (February, April, June, August, October, December)

Week 1
Sisters and brothers in Christ, we have a commission, to take the life and love we have celebrated here out into our daily lives, our everyday world.
We are not called to go out as those who are perfect, or who have all the answers, but as those who share the struggle, and have found a deep spring to quench our thirst.
So go from this community with our blessing, and with the blessing of God, the companionship of Jesus Christ, and the guidance of the Spirit. Amen.

© Ann Siddall, Stillpoint Spirituality Centre and Faith Community

Week 2
May Christ be in your seeing the beauty and pain in the world.
May Christ be in your hearing the laughter and tears of the world.
May Christ be in your thinking and may you never be satisfied with easy answers.
May Christ be in your speaking to tell good news.
May Christ be in your holding with strength and gentleness.
May Christ be in your heart with patience and determination.
May Christ be in your walking to take you far and wide.
May Christ be deep in your soul that you may always know deep peace.

© Susan Wickham (from Singing While It Is Still Dark)

Week 3
(linked to communion)
We began our service with worship,
and now we begin our worship with service.
We go to join in God's work in the world,
to sing of a dream of reborn hope and the power of love.

Go with courage as you follow the ways of the Christ.
Go with imagination into the creative life of God.
And go with freedom into the life of the Spirit. Amen.

Week 4
God looks upon us with kindness and mercy. God's face is turned towards us in love. Jesus said "Blessed are the merciful".
Let us go from this place as those who have been shown mercy, and who are ready to show mercy to others:
In the name of God who has gathered us,
Of Jesus Christ who calls and commissions us,
And of the Spirit who fills us with compassion. Amen.

Go simply,
lightly,
gently,
in search of Love.
And the Spirit go with you. Amen.

A Franciscan Benediction
May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers,
half -truths, superficial relationships,
so that you may live deep within your heart.

May God bless you with anger at injustice,
oppression and exploitation,
so that you will work for justice, equity and peace.

May God bless you with tears to shed
for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation and war,
so that you will reach out your hand to comfort them, and change their pain to joy.

And may God bless you with the foolishness to think
that you can make a difference in the world,
so that you will do the things which others tell you cannot be done.
Amen.
